Wow… it feels like it’s been so long since I blogged personal photos. As I’m writing this, I can’t even remember the last time I did! Thankfully, I had a random urge to get my film camera back out again (that had essentially been collecting dust for the last two years) and take some film photos of the gorgeous cherry blossoms at the tidal basin… and a few shots of our newly adopted chocolate/cafe au lait toy poodle Coco, too! (She was cracking us up when we got the film back!!)
We went to see the cherry blossoms as a family on my little sister’s 22nd birthday. This was my first time downtown since, apparently, the scooter takeover arrived. Those things are EVERYWHERE! We had a little fun with them for about a half hour as we rode them from the mall to the Jefferson and back! We aren’t experts, but we can confidently say that the green Lime scooters are the best, sturdiest ones around. We went back a few days later on the weekend with friends and essentially tried to get all 5 different brands of scooters to work… and after operating them all, just trust me. Lime is the only one worth your time!
After our little scooter adventure, we went to Mia’s birthday dinner at Georgia Brown’s, which our dad informed us was a restaurant he and my mom always said they wanted to try, but never made it. Well, I hope it was worth the 30+ year wait, dad…! We thought it was delicious!! My favorite thing was the cornbread. So good!
What was extra fun about this evening downtown was getting to walk to the metro and just zip into the city!! We aren’t used to being close enough to a metro stop to get downtown in 30 minutes or less and it’s awesome!! We’ve been a few times since and I hope this summer is full of memories like this… including more film photos!!
And here come the photos of Coco! We love her!!
