They met at Frostburg State University as they were both walking through campus, unaware that their lives were about to change forever. Tara was studying Business Marketing and probably didn’t expect to meet her husband somewhere as ordinary as the sidewalk on her way to class. Their first date was at the movie theatre; now it’s tradition to spend the evening of Tara’s birthday every year at Hemmingway’s on Kent Island to eat outside and watch the sunset over an oysters on the half shell appetizer. When they’re not curled up on the couch watching Law & Order or Criminal Minds together, they’re spending time with their 6-year-old son, Chase, attending his sporting games together or treating their family of three to a dinner on the waterfront… like they did right after our session on Sunday, during which Chase had a SALAD for dinner, even after telling me he was going to order chocolate for his meal :) Craig and Tara love spending time with family, going to the pool or the beach, and exploring county/state fairs and the Renaissance festival “to eat yummy, fattening vendor food” :) Tara is my kinda girl!!! These two are so laidback and easygoing… and Chase is adorable! I can’t write this post without saying thank you to Tara for giving me advice on my decision to do photography full-time this summer… as a future bride of mine, she made me feel so much more at peace with my decision! Craig and Tara, I can’t WAIT for your August wedding… it’s going to be an absolutely beautiful day and Tara, you are going to make a STUNNING bride!!! Hope you love every one of these pictures! Xoxo
Tara told me after the shoot that she would have been happy “with just ONE great picture of the three of us and 2-3 of the two of us.” I’m so glad Chase was there to hop in a few shots!!! :) I have ALWAYS wanted to shoot on a dock like this… and I got the chance to do it with Craig & Tara!!! And the best part was that out of all the spots we stopped at took pictures at… Tara said this was the spot that was the most “US.” That’s the goal with engagement sessions… to reflect who you are as a couple! Glad we could make it happen!! Fun fact… these flowers were outside of a restaurant and right in front of the DUMPSTER…. it’s all about how you compose your shots to show/hide what you want in your shot!!! This bridge was the perfect place to look over the water and out at all the boats in the marina. These are some of my favorites from the entire evening! Annnnd last but not least… the ring shots… Tara’s ring is just breathtaking!!! It took me a few minutes to get my lighting right because it was just reflecting so much LIGHT!!! It’s such a clear cut diamond! Beautiful!
