This post has been a long time coming! The Smith Family’s Apollo Beach family photos are from the first session I booked here in Florida. They hired me about a month after we moved to the Tampa area. Soon after we moved in, I discovered we had a beach right down the road from our new rental called Apollo Beach. A pretty neighborhood with gorgeous beach houses opens up to a nature preserve at the end of the road. An observation tower overlooks the bay and quaint lagoon. After visiting it a couple of times, I could only imagine how beautiful it would be at sunset. Golden hour lighting up the white Gulf sands and the bay water shimmering beyond the shore…
Obviously, it was just as magical as I had hoped it would be. The Smith family made this shoot even dreamier than I could have asked for. They were so kind to me and and such a joy to photograph. Thinking of their session still brings a smile to my face years later.
Smith Family Portraits at Apollo Beach Nature Preserve
The Smiths ended up having such gorgeous images from their family photos at Apollo Beach Nature Preserve. Part of that was largely in part to their readiness to show up excited to spend time together and just have some fun. They brought a football to toss around on the beach, and they wore some great coordinating outfits! I tend to use their photos as examples for what to wear to a family portrait session because they did such a fantastic job with outfit selection. I loved their shoot from start to finish and continue to share images from their session frequently. It perfectly captures all the golden hour Gulf Coast island vibes!
