I am SO EXCITED to share the photos from our blush botanical baby shower!! I can’t believe I’m writing this post… it’s still kinda surreal! To be honest, I’m just proud of myself for getting this up before baby comes. Haha! I’m just about 37 weeks so it could be any day now, or it could also be another month and a half… it’s so weird being so close, yet also possibly so far. It’s just another challenge to release it to the Lord and let Him ordain the perfect timing. With everything going on in the world, I know he has the details laid out just right for her arrival and what He has planned for us as a family. We are trusting him and just taking it day by day.
We originally had no idea where we could have our baby shower… we knew we had a lot of friends and family we wanted to invite, but did NOT have a space to accommodate so many. We had about 35 people come to our gender reveal and most people were sitting on the floor or the STAIRS! Someday we’ll have a home that can host these kinds of parties a little more efficiently and comfortably! I was sharing that with my friend Katelyn (and laughing about how crowded our tiny townhouse was for the gender reveal) and the next thing I knew, my friend Meredith was texting me asking if I had anything lined up for my shower yet… because Katelyn had offered her home if we needed it. Cue me tearing up and getting SO excited! Katelyn’s home is gorgeous and she has herself called it “a home made for hosting,” and that’s exactly what it is. Lots of space to mingle, sit, inside and outside and just so pretty. It took a lot of weight off my shoulders for trying to find a venue that wasn’t outrageously priced… and even though this meant our friends and family would be making a little bit of a drive (1-2 hours), they were all the more excited about the fun space and the little road trip they could make out of it!

Everyone who showed up clearly REALLY loves us! Lol! We didn’t take it for granted that people took an entire afternoon off to come celebrate with us and love on baby girl. This was the baby shower of my dreams thanks to Meredith, my sisters Alexa and Mia, and Katelyn for offering up her home for basically an entire Saturday. It says a lot about her that she is constantly hosting baby showers and and birthday parties and get togethers for her friends and I am just so honored to know her and so thankful for her kindness!! My sisters and Meredith put so much time, effort, and resources into making this day special for us and I’ll never forget it.
It’s crazy to think that just a couple weeks after this shower, the world would literally be shutting down. Gatherings of over 10 people would be “prohibited” and everyone would be on lockdown and stuck in their homes…
God KNEW. He wanted to give me a really special shower that exceeded my expectations… he wanted all of those people there… He knew our other two showers (a little tea party one for people who couldn’t make it, and a shower at Justin’s work) would be cancelled… and that this would be the one day we would be “showered” with gifts and celebration for baby girl. Wow. Looking back, it is just amazing his timing – I am so glad it wasn’t one week sooner or later. It all worked out perfectly and these photos and memories mean THAT much more to me in light of all the craziness going on in the world with COVID-19.

It is always so fun to get to do that and I really appreciate that!! So kind of her, and so nice that she took the time to take photos in the middle of keeping this shower running! I’ll treasure these images forever and I know baby girl will, too!
We are so happy and excited and can’t WAIT to meet our daughter… it’s so surreal and this season is so joyful still even in the midst of everything going on that is so out of our control. Her arrival is the ultimate blessing and a MOST welcome distraction! We cannot wait!
Only a few more weeks!! Thank you again to everyone who came to our shower and made us feel SO LOVED! We love you all and are so glad we got to hug you one last time before the world turned upside down ;) We can’t wait for you to meet our daughter!!!
