The other day, I wrote about rare gems in this industry that are passionate about using their platforms to further causes that are greater than themselves. Jamie Delaine is one of these beautiful souls! I got a message from her in my Facebook inbox a while ago about something called The School Sessions. What’s happening is that hundreds of photographers are booking a shoot (or shoots!) on April 12th, 2015 and donating 100% of the proceeds from those sessions to a good cause: building a school in Haiti. The school costs over $200,000, so this isn’t an undertaking for the faint of heart. After going on a missions trip to Haiti myself in 2013, this project is one that is close to my heart. I can still see the joy in the kids’ smiles, hear their bubbly laughter, feel their dangly arms wrapped around my neck and their rough little hands raking through my blonde hair. They wanted nothing more than to learn, to be talked to, to be loved on… and building a school is one of the best things we can do for this country that is very much still trying to recover from the damages of the earthquake that happened years ago. THIS is one of those movements that is directly impacting, molding, changing our world! Are you getting excited yet?
