Before being a bride myself, I could never quite understand how brides got nervous on their wedding days. I would wonder what there was to be nervous about… you’re getting married!! Well, now I understand! The morning of my bridal shower I was full of nerves and excitement! I think it’s just knowing that all eyes are going to be on you and you’ll have everyone’s FULL attention for the entire time they are present because everything is happening just for you. It’s just a little bit of pressure!! ;) As I was putting my dress on and putting the final touches on my makeup, I wondered if this was just a little preview for how I would feel on the wedding day… excited, overjoyed, and just a little bit nervous! I can imagine once the big day gets here I probably won’t just be a little nervous… I’ll likely be in full panic mode. Haha!! I just know myself well enough to anticipate that my mind is probably going to be running a mile a minute and all I’ll want to do is see Justin. (I’m SO glad we are doing a First Look!!!)
This bridal shower was the most fun thing I’ve experienced so far in this wedding planning journey. It was an afternoon to just sit back, relax, and feel SHOWERED with love!! I totally did! The name of this event couldn’t be more accurate. The whole time I felt like saying, “Awww, you did this for me?!” So cheesy but so true!!! It’s such a wonderful experience being a bride, but it’s even more wonderful when you’re surrounded by people who love you and care about your marriage. All the little household items we received are literally going to be what we build our home and life and our memories with!! Ahhh! I can’t believe we’re so close to moving in and living together! May 29th can’t come soon enough!! :)
Special thanks to my Maid of Honor, Tessa, for hosting my bridal shower! Thank you to my sisters Alexa and Mia and my future sister-in-law, Becky, and mother-in-law, Brenda, for helping prepare and pull everything together! Thank you to Ms. Mary for helping Tessa with all the decorations and food prep! And special thanks to Meredith Sledge for all of these beautiful photos below! She did an amazing job capturing all the gorgeous details and sweet moments. I’m so thankful for your friendship and for everyone’s time and effort put in to making me feel loved and celebrated – I’m so grateful for all of you!
The pink and gold theme was perfect!! Meredith made our friend Jordan’s delicious chocolate chip cookies and they were to die for!
Yummy scones and cakes!!
“Project Megan” was Becky’s idea and it’s brilliant!! I can’t wait to have some fun new recipes to try out after the wedding! :) (P.S. Catch The Bachelor reference?! Haha!!)
The mimosa bar!! One of my favorite details!!!
Time for the festivites to begin!!
Last minute preparations!
Melissa and her mom have been a part of my life since I was a BABY! (So have Tessa and her mom!!) We were the “three musketeers” when we were younger and it was surreal being in the same place together again!
Game time… oh my!
These was mine and Justin’s answers to the question, “What is Megan’s favorite flower” LOL.
“What one item would the bride want the groom to get rid of?” Haha!
Thanks for being a great game host, Alexa!!
Then everyone filled out a “How Well Do You Know The Bride” quiz!! The top 5 winners won little prizes!!
Then it was time for gifts!! Okay… I had NO idea how many gifts I’d be receiving!! Seriously, I was blown away. I think half our registry has been purchased!!! Everyone was so gracious to get such amazing gifts for us! And so many fun items from off our registry as well…! I felt like so much of the afternoon was me opening gifts and I was so surprised by that but I guess that’s what a shower is after all!! :) :) I had WAY too much fun and can’t wait to see all these gorgeous gifts in our first home!!!
My facial expressions during these were hilarous. Haha. The teal mugs from Kaitlyn though!! SO CUTE.
Kelly bought us a Ninja as well as a “Bachelor” wine glass!!! AHHH! Using it tomorrow night haha!!
Thanks to the Zizzi’s we now have beautiful appetizer plates, pasta bowls, and glasses!!
Lacoya – our sweet wedding planner – was kind enough to attend my shower and write us the sweetest note. We love you!!!
Bonfire supplies from Dana and the cutest “Happily Ever After” pillowcases from Ms. Mary!!
And then… my handsome groom walked in with flowers in hand!! Of course, he arrived JUST as I was about to open Bernie’s Victoria’s Secret gift… I made him look away! Lol!!
I finished opening gifts and then mingled for a bit as everyone headed home! Glad we were able to grab a few photos as the sun was setting and the fun was settling down!
Justin… I love you!! And I can’t believe we only have 83 more days until we’re married and waking up next to each other!! Ahhh!!!!
Aw I love the pictures and the commentary throughout the photos. I love photos of bridal showers and seeing all the details and fun moments. Bridal showers are so fun! That’s great you had someone photograph your shower for you, I did my own photos haha but I enjoyed it :)
It was SO much fun!!! I had no idea what to expect because I’d only been to one bridal shower when I was 16 that I couldn’t really remember, so everything was just a wonderful surprise!! I’m so glad one of my bridesmaids is a wedding photographer herself… it sure came in handy this day!! ;)
Aww Megan! I loved seeing these! Bridal Showers are so fun and yours was so pretty! Its so much fun following along with you as you plan your wedding and I can’t wait to see your wedding photos that Katelyn takes! :) You are going to be one beautiful bride! xo :)
Aww thanks Heather!!! I can’t wait for our wedding day to get here and to be MARRIED!! (The photos are just a bonus!! ;) )
