The first thing I have to say about Sy-yu and Anthony is just how SWEET they are. Seriously… I don’t think either of them have a single mean-spirited bone in their bodies. They are so kind, so gentle, and so thoughtful that the least I can say is how much of an honor it was to be a part of their Crosskeys Vineyard wedding. I knew from the second I met them for their engagement photos at the National Gallery of Art that they were going to have the sweetest wedding day! After NINE years together, Sy-yu and Anthony are finally husband and wife and they had one unforgettable celebration with 200 of their closest family and friends!
I had heard of this venue for years from local friends and never had the chance to shoot here until this past weekend. I was SO excited! It’s not often that I get stunning mountains as my shooting backdrop for the day so I was THRILLED. I think I’ve had quite the few incredible wedding venues this year and Crosskeys Vineyard was no different!
I walked in and already knew to expect blush and gold but as soon as I saw the bridesmaids dresses, my heart did a little dance and I was ready to roll!! I knew the day was going to be gorgeous from start to finish and it was. From Sy-yu, who was such a beautiful bride, her breathtaking lace gown with the stunning train (wait until you see!!), the blush and peach florals (AH!!), and all the blush and gold details at the reception space (with gold chiavari chairs!!), this wedding was all of my favorite things wrapped up in one! During bridesmaids portraits Sy-yu looked at me and asked, “Don’t you think my bouquet looks a little bit like yours?” and I was like “YES!!! YES IT DOES!! I haven’t seen a bouquet like this since my own wedding day and it makes me so happy!!” I was just waiting for her to say it! Seriously, Flowers by Rose did an incredible job and I just LOVED the pops of color and warm palette throughout all of the day’s florals. The ceremony arbor alone was stunning! All that pop against a backdrop of mountains… it doesn’t get any prettier.
From the soft greens of the rolling fields to the Virginia Blue Ridge peaks lining the horizon off in the distance… I think this wedding is a new favorite and will stay one for some time to come :) You just have to see it! Sy-yu and Anthony, thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. It was an honor! I hope you love every single photo!
Thank you to these incredible vendors for making this wedding day a dream come true!
