They met in high school and reconnected years later, realizing that there might be something there. I love it when couples have history together because it’s been such a huge part of my own relationship with Justin. There’s something unique nowadays about marrying someone you’ve shared life with years in your past. It’s a beautiful and rare thing, and not something everyone has in common. I love that about Mike & Blair’s story!
We originally talked about meeting for their shoot at Great Falls… however, I’m SO excited they chose downtown Middleburg for their engagement photos. I’ve been wanting to explore this area more for years! In fact, it was on my summer bucket list this year to spend a Saturday at, exploring some wineries and enjoying lunch at Salamander Market. There are all kinds of hidden gems in this downtown area, and we stumbled upon a few of them during Mike & Blair’s shoot! (Keep an eye out for the red telephone booth!)
I had a lot of fun hanging out with these two, even with the temperature being in the twenties by the time we wrapped up their shoot! They were troopers!! I think it was worth the remaining Fall colors and that gorgeous soft winter light you can only find a few months of the year. It was wonderful editing these photos because the light was just dreamy and the colors that were there just pop out of the image. You’ll see what I’m talking about below!
Mike & Blair, I am so excited for your wedding day to get here and I can’t wait to be celebrating with you next summer! It’s going to be one epic day!!
Seriously this is stunning. Excellent work!
