Glam Maryland Backyard Wedding | Kelly & Zach Married

I can’t believe this day came and went this past weekend!! Kelly has been a sweet friend of mine over the past couple of years. When we first met, we were still just dating our now husbands (!!!) and I remember sitting down at dinner with Kelly and talking about how long the wait for marriage seems especially when you don’t get to live with your significant other before your wedding day. Well I think Kelly would agree with me that all of this was SO worth the wait. The Lord had a plan for the two of us in our relationships and what a beautiful story He wrote!!

Honored would not be the right word to use when thinking about the fact that I got to be the one to capture Kelly’s wedding day. It felt so fitting because Kelly also got to be a part of my wedding day in a really special way by bringing THE most popular piece of decoration at our wedding reception… a light up marquee LOVE sign. I got to see that again at Kelly’s wedding this past Sunday among MANY other gorgeous details and elements!!

When I was trying to think of a word to describe Kelly & Zach’s wedding day, I immediately thought of who these two are when they’re together. They’re both so warm, friendly and down-to-earth, and very relatable… and they can make you laugh!! If you don’t know anything about Kelly, you will once you take a look at these photos. She loves gold with a little bit of glam, she is obsessed with vibrant colors, and she LOVES her cats. She has a thing for things with a little bit of quirkiness to them and I just love that about her. When you’re with Kelly you know you’re going to have a good time because she’s so funny and she’s the kind of friend who you feel like you’ve known forever even though you’ve just met. I feel so lucky to have gotten to call her a friend these past few years and to have been a part of her wedding day in such a special way!!!

I can’t go on without mentioning just how talented Kelly is… and how much time she put into making her wedding day one that everyone would love and enjoy (especially her family and her sweet husband Zach). Kelly drew Zach’s name on the bottom of all of her shoes (even her Louboutins that she bought years ago just for her wedding day!) in classic Toy Story’s “ANDY” style. Her speciality cocktails were named after her cats (complete with badass Photoshopped portraits of them). She incorporated monograms not only into her wedding cake and sweetheart’s table but also pillows, wine glasses, her stationery, and her bridesmaids robes! Kelly thought of the sweetest gifts for each of her bridesmaids and everyone just about died opening them! Kelly designed her invitations and programs, her reception space, her ceremony site, and her bouquets… yes!! Kelly did all of those things! Her talent is out of this world and it showed.

I think my favorite part of Kelly and Zach’s wedding day (besides their sweet first look, her tearful reveal with her dad, and their reception entrance running through a banner) was the moment when Kelly walked down the aisle. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and I couldn’t help but cry myself. There is something SO heavenly and surreal about the moment two people who love Jesus enter into marriage together. I can’t describe the beauty of it all, but listening to Kelly & Zach vow to love not only each other but the Lord as a team for the rest of their lives… it was an amazing thing to witness, and it’s all just a glimpse of the glory that’s to come for those of us who belong to Christ.

Kelly and Zach, and I can’t thank you enough for having me be a part of your wedding. It was truly the greatest honor and I’ll never forget all of the sweet moments and thoughtful details that were tied into your wedding day from start to finish. I hope you LOVE all of your photos and I can’t wait to hear all about your Florida honeymoon!!!
