It’s always a special wedding day when you know the bride or groom. All of my couples feel like sweet friends once their wedding day arrives, but one thing that’s extra special about wedding days where I’ve known the bride or groom for years is that I’m probably going to see other sweet friends at their wedding and it will feel a little bit like a family reunion! Britney and Greg’s wedding day was no exception! I’ve known Britney since first grade. We both had Mrs. Boros as our first and second grade teacher. (We were SO honored that she moved up with OUR class, lol!) Mrs. Boros and her husband, daughter, and granddaughter were at this wedding and fun fact, I shot her grandson’s wedding at this same venue two and a half years ago! I’ve also shot my second grade teacher’s assistant’s daughter’s wedding here at this same venue that year, too!! This is also where Justin and I modeled for a wedding styled shoot in 2014, so you can imagine that walking back into Harbour View felt a little bit like coming home! The ladies who work in the event planning office joked that it feels like they know me because they see my face every day! Haha!! Needless to say, I love this venue and this sweet couple who made such a great decision to get married here!!
Occoquan is a quaint waterfront historic town where boats line the harbor and shops are busy with visitors who have been coming back year after year. Harbour View is an elegant and modern venue with a nautical feel. It’s always lovely shooting here because you have beautiful trees, brick walls, barn doors, and the harbor docks to work with for portraits! It’s truly a unique venue and it’s so much fun for guests to see and experience, too! I know Britney and Greg had an amazing wedding day not only because of the setting and decor but because of how much fun they had. Their guests didn’t stop dancing all night and I will never forget seeing everyone dancing to the 1935 version of the Hokey Pokey at the end of the night!! It was amazing!!
Britney and Greg, I hope you had the wedding day of your dreams and I hope that you love these photos! Even more than that, I hope the future holds beautiful things in store for you.
