Their smiles are contagious. The second Kayla and Bryan walked up from the parking lot I knew it was going to be an amazing shoot because they both had the biggest smiles on their faces! I just love that. It reflects their character so well because they were laughing their entire shoot. There is nothing more exciting for a wedding photographer than hanging out with a couple that is SO in love that posing becomes such a natural and easy thing! I always tell my clients come ready to just have fun and be themselves and I don’t think Kayla and Bryan even had to try. They love each other so much and are clearly such great friends and that shows in these photos!
We took photos around Jerusalem Mill where the leaves were just turning and the weather was beginning to feel cooler as the sun sank lower to the horizon. I loved the natural feel of this shoot… I feel like I’ve been shooting in the city quite often lately so it was fun to just have trees, a barn, and some old stone ruins to work with! I love that one of their favorite things to do together is go on hikes in the woods, so this location was perfect for them. The best part is that Jerusalem Mill is where Kayla and Bryan took prom photos together years ago. When they reminded me of that at the end of the shoot, I had one of those “yesss!” moments in my mind that happens from time to time as a photographer! I love telling a story and I love that these two are going to have similar photos from different seasons of their lives to look back on for years to come!
I can’t finish this part of the post before raving about Kayla’s GORGEOUS HAIR. Oh my goshhhh! It’s so pretty! I kept telling her to fluff and shake it around because it’s just so stunning!! I felt like I was taking pictures of Cinderella in her blue dress with princess hair. These two love Disney movies so honestly, that couldn’t be more fitting!! It was so much fun and made editing the photos so much fun, too!!
Kayla and Bryan, I can’t wait for your wedding day next year! I hope this season of engagement is so special for you and that you’ll always cherish it in your hearts as a time that the Lord was walking beside you preparing you to be husband and wife. It’s going to be amazing! I hope you love these photos as much as I adore you two!!!
