I first met Maggie when she was a bridesmaid in the first Richmond wedding I shot last summer. It was then that I first fell in love with everything RVA and saw how spectacular a wedding in this city can be! Maggie & Alan’s Richmond Historic Tredegar wedding was full of character and the city’s one of a kind charm. Their day started at Maggie’s parent’s house where Maggie slipped into her dress in her mom + dad’s bedroom and, after sharing a few sweet moments with her bridesmaids and parents and snapping a few portraits in their backyard, we headed to Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for a beautiful Catholic ceremony in the heart of the city. The vaulted ceilings + intricate details of their ceremony site were absolutely stunning and made for such an unforgettable experience for their guests. We then took the trolley to Brown’s Island for a few cityscape bridal party portraits before heading to their outdoor reception at the Historic Tredegar, the site of an old ironworks factory. Maggie & Alan’s wedding day was so classically Richmond and so fitting for their love story – they met at a bar in The Fan several years ago and in the city where their history began they tied the knot and started a life together. Maggie and Alan, thank you so much for having me be a part of your beautiful wedding day. I loved meeting all of your family and friends and experiencing just how much you two are surrounded by love. I hope you cherish these photos forever!!
I LOVED all the navy blue at this wedding!!
Their invitiation suite was gorgeous, too! And look at those rings!! The gold!! LOVE.
Maggie’s bridesmaids had matching robes and they were SO cute.
Almost time to get into her dress…!
Loved her “First Look” with her bridesmaids!!! Such a sweet moment!
Maggie you looked STUNNING!!
Time for some pre-ceremony portraits!
Isn’t she just gorgeous?!
Time to get married!!!
Maggie and Alan didn’t do a First Look, but they did want to hold each other’s hand just before walking down the aisle…
So many tearful moments during their ceremony! It was precious!
MARRIED!!!
They are seriously the cutest. I adore Maggie’s smile!!
Then we headed to Brown’s Island for some cityscape photos!
I loved every last reception detail! Maggie put so much thought into making her guests comfortable + having a good time!!
I always love seeing engagement photos at the reception! Time for their first dance as husband and wife!!
And then we just had to take some more bride and groom portraits around the beautiful grounds of the Tredegar!
We actually shot Maggie & Alan’s engagement photos here and we just kept saying how we couldn’t believe their wedding day was really here!!
Back to the party!!!
They did a GLOW STICK send off! This was a first for me and I was so excited!! Everyone LOVED it!!! And these photos are so colorful & fun!
Congrats, you two!! Wishing you so many years of happiness and The Lord’s blessings. Xoxo!!
