Nautical Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Wedding | Ashleigh & Kevin

You’re going to love Ashleigh & Kevin’s nautical Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding on the Eastern Shore of Maryland! This is our FIRST wedding on the new blog and it’s a GOOD one. There are just so many sweet moments and a TON of portraits!! Having so much time for Bride & Groom and Bridal Party Portraits was a DREAM as a wedding photographer who loves being able to get creative and incorporate multiple locations. Note to any future brides reading this… it is so worth building in a little bit of extra time to your day to not have any stress or rushing and to just be able to ENJOY your portrait time! Just look at how many Ashleigh & Kevin have below!!

I loved all of the personal details of this wedding like the family pictures in the reception area, the macarons and cupcakes tailored to Ashleigh & Kevin’s navy and blush colors and nautical theme (love the stripes!), their photo booth with hilarious props that all the guests loved, and the unique centerpieces on every table. You can tell how much thought Ashleigh put into making this day unforgettable for family and friends. Everyone had the BEST time!

I especially loved when Ashleigh’s brother got up and sang and played guitar for Ashleigh & Kevin’s first dance. It was so sweet. Between that moment and the tearful First Look and Kevin’s emotional reaction to Ashleigh coming down the aisle… I’m not sure there was a single guest who didn’t have their heartstrings pulled more than a little bit at some point during this wedding day. It was just so romantic.

These two love each other deeply, as told by Ashleigh in her own words about falling in love with Kevin…

“We bonded over our mutual DC restaurant foodie obsessions and similar sense of humor. Before I knew it we were on our first date at Blue Duck Tavern….we talked for 8 + hours and almost had to get kicked out at the end because we were the last ones there! It was the best date I had ever been on, and Kevin was everything I was ever looking for in a guy that I thought I would just never find all in one person. I felt overwhelming lucky to meet him and knew in my heart, even though it had been a rough road getting there, everything happened for a reason and this was meant to be.”

The best part of capturing this wedding for me was the connection I had with Ashleigh and Kevin instantly upon meeting them at their engagement session. I remember saying that Kevin’s personality reminded me so much of Justin’s, and that we just had to make a double date happen soon because I knew we’d have such a good time. Our schedules have been so crazy, but with winter approaching and the craziness winding down, I really hope we can make it happen! I just love these two! They have the biggest hearts and the kindest personalities. Ashleigh gave me so much grace with the little bit of extra time it took to put the finishing touches on her photos with my first trimester roller coaster and I will forever be so grateful for that. Plus, they have a MASSIVE wedding gallery to swoon over now… I really hope it was worth the wait!
