Time is just FLYING by!! I can’t believe it’s been almost two months since we hopped in the car and made the long drive down to Florida! My sweet friend Meredith tagged along because Justin and I needed a roommate as we had our own ROOM at this resort! That’s never happened before!! I’m so glad Meredith got to experience Disney with us… it was QUITE the memorable experience. Haha.
Because I didn’t want to be carrying my camera around for our entire time at Disney, I only brought it on two of the four days we were at the parks. Magic Kingdom HAD to be captured as it’s my favorite park and it’s so photogenic!! We didn’t take a ton of photos but that’s because everyone was too busy having fun to stop and pause. But I’m glad I captured what I did! The only moment I wish I had gotten was Justin when he was having an arthritis flare up…. I’m HORRIBLE but me and Meredith could not stop laughing at the fact that this would happen at DISNEY. I’ve never seen Justin have that issue before so for it to occur because we were going too hard at the most “magical” place on earth… I can’t. It was too funny!!
Our day started with a monorail ride into the kingdom and this is what you see when you first step through the ticket turnstiles!
I am ashamed to say it… but this was the first ride we hopped on in the park. We were running behind and only had a small window of time to explore before heading back out of the park for breakfast, so this was all we could do!
We headed to Disney’s Polynesian Resort where we were greeted with cupcakes (thanks to Becky’s birthday!) and this sweet little old woman saying that Mickey would be at our table soon.
WAIT. WHAT. I had no idea Mickey Mouse was going to be a part of this breakfast and I HAD NEVER MET HIM BEFORE. I had this tragic childhood memory of my first time at Disney wanting so badly to meet Mickey Mouse but not being able to stand in line for an hour. It was the middle of the summer and the park was so crowded as we were leaving that night, I saw him walking away and I waved at him furiously trying to grab his attention but he didn’t see me. It was my 10th birthday when that happened! So after all these years… being in the same RESTAURANT…… unexpectedly……. with 2 mimosas in my system thanks to the conveniently located bar during the wait for our table…………. it happened.
Guys, I cried meeting Mickey Mouse. As a 22-year-old. I don’t know what triggered this flood of emotions but it seriously felt like my childhood dream had finally come true. I could not GET IT TOGETHER AND I AM SO EMBARASSING.
Oh, the memories. Hahaha.
We headed back to the park to start our day exploring!
How cute is this little alleyway off Main Street?!
The fireworks show is one my favorite parts of any day spent at Magic Kingdom. The entire castle lights up, Disney classics play in rhythm with the show, and Jiminy Cricket reminds you that dreams come true.
One of my favorite places on Earth!!!
Can’t wait until next time!!!
