I still can’t believe these are OUR wedding pictures… by THE Katelyn James… at the gorgeous Big Spring Farm in Lexington, Virginia with breathtaking florals by Ginger & Blooms and planning and coordination by Hello Love Events! We truly had a DREAM TEAM of vendors and that’s kind of what was the driving force behind our wedding day. We lost the wedding giveaway over a year ago SO THAT we could have this wedding. It was so clearly God’s plan for this to be our wedding day from start to finish! The rain was so cleansing and beautiful and cast a dreamy spell over the entire farm. The blush flowers and gold decor added a romantic, fairytale touch and the people made the day unforgettable. I still can’t get the image out of my head of everyone’s faces as I walked down the aisle… it was so surreal! I’ll replay it over and over again in my head for the rest of my life, along with so many other moments.
My sisters crying during my first look with my dad… how he tried SO hard to hold back tears as he read the letter I wrote to him… how I completely lost all my composure when Lauren walked in with our bouquets… the sound of the music as I walked from the barn to the peninsula where Justin was waiting for me…
The way the rain mixed with the tears on my cheeks as I walked down the aisle… our bridal party laughing as me and Justin attempted to braid “the knot” together… bouncing up and down with anticipation just WAITING to be pronounced husband and wife… heading back down the aisle and realizing IT HAPPENED and we WERE MARRIED….!!!
Surprising Justin with my second dress was another highlight from the day. After we finished family formals, we knew we only had a few moments to change and head up to the hill for second dress portraits before it started to downpour so I told Justin we had to take a walk up to the bridal suite for me to grab something. He had no idea I was changing into a second dress! He LOVED it!! And I think it was his favorite dress of the day ;) We headed to the hill for portraits and it started raining at the very tail end of them! Thank goodness for Katelyn’s strategic planning otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten any portraits in my second dress!! Katelyn shot all the gorgeous reception details while I was changing and I am still blown away!!! Check out our incredible wedding day film by The Herrintons below!!!

Maid of Honor speech!
Father/Daughter dance! I chose “Butterfly Fly Away” as our song… which is about a dad being a single parent and raising his daughter to go off and chase her dreams on her own. I definitely cried…
We’re still not sure what exactly happened during the Mother/Son dance. Hahaha. But it was SO cute watching them dance to “You’ll Be In My Heart!”

Cake cutting! He didn’t even attempt to smash it in my face… so I took FULL advantage of this opportunity to do so.
After cake cutting I surprised my grandpa with a song dedicated to him. He used to sing “Hello Darlin'” by Conway Twitty to me ALL the time when I was a little girl… I’ll never forget sharing these moments with him.
