I have to admit… I was a little nervous for this shoot!! You see, I first met Kaitlyn and Josh when I was a senior in high school and applying to every college I could possibly find in the state of Virginia (lol). I had gotten into Virginia Tech’s honors program and they even offered me a scholarship! I was thrilled but wanted to check out the campus first and see what I thought of it! My friend Karli invited me to stay with her at Tech for a long weekend (how sweet of her, right?!) and that’s when I met Kaitlyn!! That was six years ago this month! Kaitlyn and Josh were already together at this point because they had actually started dating in high school! So just like Justin and me, they dated through college and got married and are now living a happy life as husband and wife! I couldn’t wait to meet them at Sky Meadows State Park for this shoot!
These two are so good together. Their temperaments are both so calm and laid-back and I loved photographing them because they just melted into each other with the ease and comfort that comes from close to a decade spent together. It was so sweet to see and to capture. We had so much fun wandering around the park in the unseasonably mild weather and bright sunshine! The scenery was breathtaking and Kaitlyn’s dress took my breath away when she walked up to start the shoot! I love that these two put so much thought into their outfits and accessories and it made all the difference in their photos, especially when we added their sweet pup Lila into the shots! She was so much fun and just adorable. The entire shoot was a dream.
Kaitlyn and Josh, I’m so glad I got the chance to see you two again years later and still so happy and in love with each other! It’s amazing! I’m honored I got to photograph you together and I can’t wait to continue to follow along with your adventures as husband and wife! I hope you love these photos and treasure them for years to come!!
