I have been SO spoiled lately with one incredible engagement session after another and this one is no exception!! Oh my goodness. Where do I begin? These two flew in all the way from TEXAS to meet me for their Sugarloaf Mountain engagement session! Well, I’m sure they were also visiting family, accomplishing some wedding planning tasks, oh and attending a friend’s wedding… but that’s besides the point!! ;) We were a little unsure about the weather on their shoot date, and because they had caught a PLANE to get to this session, we ended up pushing their start time up to a little earlier then normal. It was amazing being able to hang out with Monica and Josh for a little longer than we were planning on! Plus the cloudy weather and changing leaves on the trees made everything so perfect for a mid-October, midday shoot. It was the first time I was able to wear my BOOTS to an engagement session and I was thrilled!!!
These two are SO in love and it shows. It’s fitting that one of the first things Monica and Josh told me about their relationship was how thankful they are to walk beside each other on their journey through life. It has been quite the journey for them with moving between several states since they got engaged! Through it all, they have been each other’s constant. They stole my own heart when they professed their love for cheese and wine, and they even made sure to send me home from their shoot with a bottle of Cabernet Franc (all the heart eyes). Yet one of my favorite aspects of their relationship that they’ve mentioned to me so far has got to be their foundation on grace and courage. Monica and Josh always comment on my Instagram posts or stories that have anything to do with those themes and it’s so special to have brides and grooms that just “get it.” Life is tough, but it’s so much more beautiful together… especially when your relationship is founded on something so much bigger than yourselves.
I am SO excited for these two and I’m so honored to be their wedding photographer! I can’t WAIT for their big day to get here!! For now, here are a few favorites of mine from their engagement session…!
