Samantha & Russell’s summertime Old Town Alexandria engagement session is one I’ve been looking forward to ALL year!! No, really…! We had to postpone this shoot several times due to changing work travel schedules, rainy weather, etc. so when I finally got to hug these two in person, it was extra exciting! I loved my time with them and even with foreboding clouds looming overhead, we lucked out and didn’t have ANY rain… but through the span of the evening we enjoyed gorgeous sunlight AND soft, cloudy skies! They had the best of both worlds!!
Summertime Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session
Old Town Alexandria is always one of my favorite places to shoot. There’s so much variety in all of the colorful buildings, the blooms are always a little different every time I visit, and there’s so much opportunity for building in a few unique lifestyle elements, like we did for Sam & Russ! We grabbed some drinks and ice cream and wandered around the waterfront. It was just like if these two were on a date and I was just tagging along! (Thanks for letting me third wheel guys! Haha!) I love how they described their relationship to me as supportive and enduring, even though they are complete opposites. That sounds familiar… Justin and I are complete opposites, too! :)
I also wanted to note how much I LOVED their outfits… they suited them so well, and Sam’s dresses were just so classically beautiful. I can only imagine how gorgeous and sweet their wedding day is going to be! I can’t wait!! Samantha and Russell, thank you for asking me to capture this season for you two! I hope you love these photos!
