Travis & Kayley: Engaged

There have been only a few moments in this photography journey so far that I’ve really felt like I might actually be a “real” photographer. It’s been years’ worth of daydreaming and fantasies of taking pictures of people on a regular basis… and creating art that was actually GOOD. Very. few. moments. where I’ve felt like I’m getting remotely close to reaching these goals… but hearing from Travis was one of them. You see, Travis is a fellow photographer… and a good one at that! So when he wrote me asking about booking me for his wedding, the next day I honestly thought I might have dreamt up that inquiry. But it was REAL! And we met for his & Kayley’s engagement session a couple of weeks ago!! It was my first time shooting for a fellow photographer… no pressure or anything ;) But seriously… Travis and Kayley are so easy going and kind that any nervousness I had felt leading up to the session just melted away once I got to talking with them!! These two are such an inspiration to me and Justin in our own relationship. I love meeting other couples who are in a similar season of life and learning from them and being encouraged by them. Driving home from this session I just felt so renewed and refreshed and encouraged!! Travis and Kayley, I absolutely cannot WAIT for your wedding day this August… I know it’s going to be a wonderful day filled with the love of family and friends and Jesus. I hope you love your engagement pictures! They are some of my favorites yet… :) Love this one… :) This tree was just amazing!!! We all gasped when we saw it! For some reason, this stoop reminded me of the Tower of Terror Hotel at Disney World… anyone? Ahhh. Love this mansion! I switched to my 35mm for these next few. Loved being able to talk lenses and camera talk with someone during a shoot!! And this looks like something from Cinderella! Favorite!!!! You guys look so good together! That golden hour sunset light… Ohhhh my… never have two people looked so good in black & white. We ended with some close-ups of Kayley’s beautiful ring. How pretty is it?! LOVE!!!
