I’m so excited to share this Yards Park engagement session that took place at Bluejacket Brewery and around the Navy Yard near the Washington Nationals Stadium! Remember that really rainy week we had where it seemed like a new storm system was moving in every few hours?! That’s when we had this shoot! I told Heather and Brad that Jesus loves them a LOT because somehow, we dodged the rain even though it was pouring my entire drive to the shoot AND back home…! I was a little nervous that we’d get rained out and wouldn’t get any outdoor portraits, but thankfully the clouds were kept at bay and we had an amazing shoot that fit their personalities perfectly!! They even bought me a beer… I mean, not trying to be biased or anything but this was definitely one of my favorite engagement sessions to date ;)
Yards Park Engagement Session at Bluejacket Brewery
Heather and Brad met during the “greet your neighbor” portion of a church service where Heather happened to be running really late and Brad just happened to be visiting from another church with a friend. The rest is history! I love that they laughed SO much throughout the session and genuinely had fun with each other. That’s always the best advice I can give for any engagement session… just have fun!! These two didn’t need to be reminded of that at all. After spending a couple of hours with them I’m now extra excited for their wedding day later this Fall, and I’m so glad we got to shoot even in the middle of the Mid Atlantic monsoon!
Heather and Brad, I hope you love your engagement photos so much, and I can’t wait to celebrate with you in a few months!!
